Hey, you there, let’s talk. What about? You and I! Here, I’ll go first. My name is Robert, nice to meet you. I’m 24 and live in southern California. I’m usually outgoing and like to talk to strangers. I try to meet new people and make new friends everywhere I go. I have many interests but my values are what really define me. I’m into reason, optimism, honesty, communication, open-mindedness, tolerance, lack of prejudice. Lately I've started to consider myself an Objectivist, even though I disagree with a few things Rand & Co believe. Promoting liberty is something I strongly believe in. Politically, I am a libertarian/anarcho-capitalist and I am proud of it. Some people don't understand it, some do not like it, but I think it's a very good thing. I think the more reason-based and liberty-minded we become, the better off the world will be. To learn how to aid in promoting reason and liberty I have started to read books on economics, politics, law, and history. I seek to be fair to all people and interact with them based only on their values and actions rather than race, gender, age, nationality or any other superficial clifier. Because of this I am a very unconventional/non-traditional type of person in many ways, but it is all in favor of goodwill. This is something that both intrigues and motivates me. Within the last year the desire to travel has grown in me. I want to see the world. I like being "chivalrous" but I don't think it's bound to gender. I try to be just as courteous to men as women. To me, this doesn't mean a decrease in the way one would treat women, but an increase in the way one would treat men. I acknowledge the physical/biological differences between men and women but I don't think that makes one gender more or less deserving of courtesy than the other (this includes courtesy in dating). If people enjoy having gender roles in their personal relationships they have every right to, but I don't like it when people expect others to follow suit or think of their preferences as the only or most m choice. Some other things about me? As corny and cliche as it is, I am very much into romance. Yeah, I know, "everyone is", but I really am. What I mean by that is most people, especially most men, seem to look at romance as necessary but a chore. Romance is one of things I enjoy doing or experiencing most. It may sound like an oxymoron, but I would like to think of myself as a realist romantic. I want a family, close friends and a love that brings me to my knees and gives me the strength to get back up. But I realize that they are rare and require pursuit, dedication and most importantly, an understanding of each other's values and desires.
