I do not reply to those who don't even live in my area (New England), so don't waste your time........First thing's first..I don't date smokers at all..period. I hate cigarettes. I have rejected a handful of very good looking women simply because of this. There's no such thing as "trying to quit" to me. A) you do smoke or B) you don't..pick one. Only one choice will p my test. And if you don't mention whether you're a smoker or not on your profile, at best you'll be considered a "maybe" on the matching system here.
I am a positive thinking person, or at least I try to be (I'm not 100% perfect although more realistic than most), and DON'T believe that "life is short". That's for druggies and alcoholics and other dead end morons to live by. If I die without doing certain activities in life...who cares? As long as I enjoyed what I DID get to do on this planet, that's all that matters to me. Very few days in your life are going to replicate DisneyWorld. You have to get your mind into this realistic mode, otherwise most days of your life are going to be forever hopeless, useless, and depressing. Hey, I'd like to go to England or Italy tomorrow, but you know what? It's not going to happen anytime soon. After 9/11, why not enjoy a simple sunrise or sunset and soak it in more? Overindulgence in big things takes away the fulfillment they provide when they do happen. If you ride on the Aerosmith roller coaster ride first at DisneyWorld, then Space Mountain and all the other thrill rides afterwards seem like they're for kids and you lose out on the whole experience. That's what I mean. Simple stuff everyday. Real fun stuff on rare occasions. Makes it more exciting when you finally do them. I'm a guy who sits in the background and watches everyone destroy each other at their daily match of "idiot ping-pong". Which brings me to this rant.....
WORDS OF WISDOM:(Perhaps a little obsolete, but you'll get my point..Hopefully. :-) I know we all want to go out and do whatever we want and go wherever we want right now, but I find it quite scary that(as far as leisure is concerned) everyone still acts like it is 1999 and gas is still $.85/gallon and you can travel the world and navigate every corner of New England and America like it costs the price of peanuts. Wake up!! You need to shut it down!!!...not completely, mind you. How much do you think I'M suffering wanting to travel all over the place? At $2.50+/gallon for gas and increasing fees for add-ons when flying....I'd rather enjoy my backyard more often right now.
One important thing about me that any woman should know....After 14 years of noone (family or doctors) telling me about it, I found out on my own that I had a diagnosis of PDD (autism spectrum).
I have come to my own conclusion that I more than likely have Asperger's. Which means, I don't read body cues too well, though I do have my moments. My saving grace is my humor. Without it, you'd never consider me.
It also means I have the highest intellectual capacity out there. Some suspected "aspies" of celebrity status? Bill Gates, Darwin, Mozart, and......Einstein! Get the point? So I'm picky when it comes to choosing a woman to get to know. I hate the same profiles that women put out here left and right. My GOD there are some boring women out there, intellectually that is. "I'm up for trying just about anything" (Like threesomes, right?)....."I like to have fun." (Hey, I like to breathe in oxygen, does that make me unique?)...."Life is short." (LOL!!! Not if you let it be. Try being sober. That might help you.)...."I'm up for trying new and exciting things." (Hey ladies, which yenta from Cosmopolitan is suggesting this cut-and-paste crap to you?).....Be creative!!! Even if it's made up stuff ..."My cat and dog are real good at playing Charades."....." I can fart to the theme from Happy Days."...."My mom thought Mr. Rogers and Mr. McFeely were gay lovers."
Be advised, any woman who meets me in person, there's a good chance I may not knock your socks off at first. Aspies are like that. Be patient. Let things gel. Unlike other guys, when I say "take it slowly", I mean it. I may not read you well at first.
I'll leave you this article, if Mingle2 and noone else flags it down for deletion...
