Hello World! I am wondering how so many boomers got to this age without gaining much wisdom. What I mean by this is, I read so many of the profiles and it sounds like the boys locker room in eighth grade. Wishful thinking. Partial truth. Afraid of adventure, but getting older and older each day, still on the "prowl". Rest ured, I understand how hard it is to find someone at our age. The world is tuned permanently to "youth" and few of our accomplishments, likes, dislikes, memories, hobbies, and so on, are even honored or thought about. That's where the "we" comes in. We have to keep our generation alive until the last of us dies out, which doesn't look like anytime soon. I am a collector of vintage bears and books, not a packrat, so please, no visions of eccentric life in my house. Eclectic, yes....crazy...no. I enjoy theater arts, often performing in or penning the production myself. I like audio books, old time radio programs on CD or tape, board games, cartoons, working out ( where I live there are hiking trails and an excellent workout room) Water aerobics, church, Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons, I am an avid reader, love mysteries, Jeopardy!, CNN, PBS, and TBN. My musical tastes run the gamut, Gospel, Clical, Smooth Jazz, Easy Listening,, Old R and B, Reggae,Country Clics ( kinda do not like the new..I love Kenny Rogers, Reba, Willie, etc). Enjoy decaf coffee, you can have your heart jolting, head banging type, and I am glad to make it for you, and we will not waste time comparing or messing with the choice of the other, just enjoy the aromatic hot drink and smile at each other over the cup. Can we dance at midnight? Eat handpacked ice cream in Summer and take a look at some of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes? How about the museums in Chicago, or the Split Rock Lighhouse tour in Duluth? There is a lot of living to do. I am really not concerned with your past, but I will listen, if you listen to me. I will hold you if you will hold me when we remember those who have gone before us and I promise to laugh at your jokes ( if they are funny and not lewd). Travel with me, when I go to speak in churches and I promise to leave pre-cooked meals for you if I am at a women's retreat. If you have someplace to go without me, you will find little love notes in your luggage, and a warm hug waiting upon your return. We are the generation that survived. Now we need to find each other and enjoy, as Paul Harvey might say, "The rest of the story".
