This is always the toughest part of these kinds of questionnaires. To quote Goethe, "Know thyself? If I knew myself, I'd run away".
I'm a smart . I never finished college because I never figured out what I wanted to do. I wanted to learn everything. I stopped with 250 credits under my belt with 5 different fields of study (none of them involving computers), and went into computer networking at the -end of the 'net bubble.
My hobbies are reading...everything. I love Dante, Shakespeare, Borges, Eco, Burroughs, Hunter S. Thompson, Robert Graves and a bajillion others. I enjoy poetry (Chaucer, Milton, Dante and Borges again, Bukowski, Homer, and a buncha other dead guys). I have gone through plenty of history kicks, mostly focusing on WWII and early Imperial Rome. My guilty pleasures are Agatha Christie (Poirot), Dashiell Hammett, and Raymond Chandler.
I also listen to audio books quite frequently. I have a 1 hour commute each way to work, and unabridged audio books make it bearable.
I have no real religion. I have no idea what I believe. I'm familiar with Buddhism, got confirmed as a Protestant and later a Catholic (in retrospect, the latter was a mistake)...I have no idea which one is right, if any of them are.
I watch a lot of films, but I don't have cable or even decent terrestrial signal. I love Memento, Bogart detective flicks, foreign films, and so on. I have a soft, squishy part in my heart for zombie flicks. I can read subles as I watch a movie and don't find it distracting. Apparently some people find it tough...
My music selections are eclectic. I grew up listening to Metal. I like hard music--NIN, Skinny Puppy, System of a Down, Rammstein, etc. I also like Portishead (Beth Gibbon), Beth Orton, Conjure One, Delerium, POE and others.
I have a good sense of humor. My high school years were spent watching British comedy on PBS back before all of that new-fangled cable stuff made Monty Python and the Black Adder really accessible. I know that wit isn't a four-letter word, and that punctuation is no subsute for timing.
Get it?
