the ugly american, i can't remember the author but with a title like
that it should not be hard to find. it's kinda like a crime novel about
embezzlement but i thought it was good, the broker by john grisham, the
testament by koontz and no fear also by koontz, the talisman and black
house both of them are a combined effort by steven king and peter
straub. both of the last two are very weird(don't read them while you
are under the influence of drugs ) lol it's kinda like looking into the
mind of a schizophrenic if you see it the right way

well, I hate to sound like I follow a fad but The Lord of the Rings
trilogy is my favourite, has been since I was a little kid, and
lionsbrew? if you like peirs anthony check out the "Incarnations of
Immortality" series if you already haven't. The 1st in the series is
called, "On a Pale Horse"
The serious is based on the premise that Death, War, Time, Mother Nature
and a few others are merely offices that are held by regular people that
got the job through bizarre or extenuating circumstances.
The other series I think is just great is Douglas' Adams, "Hitchiker's
Guide to the Galaxy"

christopher paoloni is a very young author isn't he? if he is the guy
that i am thinking about he had his first book published when he was 17

Dune series is by far my favorite.

Where the Red Fern Grows is a sad book. Being a southern coon hunting
lad who owned a pair of red bone coon hounds it really hit home. About a
week before reading the book I had to shoot one of my dogs to put her
out of her misery as she got hit by a car on the trail of a coon which
her brother finished tracking and treed. The idiot that told me I would
like the book over heard me talking about putting her down. He thought
it was funny as hell when I confronted him on his sick humor.

to:kb, yes paolini is a very young author, and gifted too, he has a way
of making u feel like part of the book. i really liked how he detailed
the whirlpool in his second book eldest it had me on edge. said he got
alot of the inspiration from the landscape near where he lives for the
setting of his novels, supposedly the third one(inheiratance(?)) is
suppose to be coming out soon. they all are worth the time to look into
them, it was hard for me to put them down. and can't wait til i read the
next one so i can find out what happens!

"of mice and men" was a really good book too. love, "where the red fern
grows" and the movie too. I like to read comics as well. such as
purgatory, lady death, dark child, etc.
