Glad to hear that you are taking steps to improve your health. My older brothers have had that warning as well and have begun to go out and walk in the mornings and evenings just to control their weight. They are all living testiment that it has helped their bloodwork with the diabetes, cholesteral, etc.
I hope all goes well for you! flowerforyou

I try to park medium far from any place I'm going. I try to walk a little faster than I normally would. I walked for about two miles this evening.

It's not working much, though. I weigh more than I want to. When I get to feeling better, I'll go in to work early and hit the treadmill for a couple of miles before work. After work, I'll be doing physical therapy for a while so I won't be able to hit the gym after work.

In the summer, I may start swimming before work if the Y'll open up the pool at 5 a.m., if not, it'll still be hit the gym.

Wish me luck. I'll need a ton of it.

Learn nutrition...learn what the value of each piece of food has for your body, is it fibre, is it protein, a rich source of iron, calcium, etc.

Learn about each different food group...before you stick it in your mouth...

Learn about how many calories your body needs to repair, rejuvenate and consume, relative to the energy you expel.

learn the calorie count of what each food has within it, before you put it in your mouth.

Explore good foods, explore the goodness, your body requires...

you only have one of them to lug you round in... you may need it for a little while longer.

This instant food, takeaway stuff is such crap... convenience food?

For whom?

Certainly it is an inconvenience food for your body to process, digest and expell.

Output must be more than input to lose weight...

So it isn't so much how much of good food you eat, it's what you are doing to utilise it.

The doctors are recommending the South Beach type diet, higher protein, lower carbohydrate diet. Diabetics follow a higher protein diet and low carb diet also. More exercise too. But Jess you are right on target. The drive-through crap is just that. The more organic the better too.
