my friend does not know he talks to himself.(He does not want to admit to it anyway.) but now, I have noticed he is answering himself now also. It may not be anything to be concerned about--i just don't know. Can anyone tell me? thanks..

Well I tend to think I am some what sane...
and I talk to myself alot at times.
Sometimes I even answer myself.
I think that happens when we spend too much time alone-
sometimes... Really don't think its anything to worry about.

lots of people talk to themselves and answer themselves, unless he's talking to himself like he's a few different people all holding a conversation i wouldn't worry.

if it's "should i do this, yeah i think i should" stuff it's nothing

Older people have this tendency because they are alone more than most. Elderly people talk to themselves as a form of anxiety relief, just to hear a voice.
Spend more time with your friend, get them involved in community activities and the habit should subside and you will be making someone much happier in their golden years.

Just over-look what he knows not what he says, and show him your true friendship. And be close in his life, as his friend.

If he drives or is able to leave his home, his famlily should be aware that he is showing signs of senility.

And it could be his meds? A change in locations, another health issue that a doctor needs to evalurate?

But it is commom in aging..

Thats all I know? I just know he needs YOUR friendship NOW, ALOT. Good Luck and GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

Just so everyone knows.....yes, I also talk to myself from time to time....guess i have not answered myself yet though.laugh laugh (the main reason i ask is....because he drives..and has run several stop signs, and stop lights.) I am driving for him some right now.
