Topic: hardest position to play in sports and why? | |

hockey goalie:
its hard enough to know how to skate and handle the puck with a stick. Now add all that padding. Then add 90-100mph pucks hitting you, and not always in the padding, constantly. Not to mention all the times he is stepped on and slashed by skates and sticks when there is a scramble in his crease. |

It's actually a lot harder to go pro as a bowler.. see football, soccer, basketball, hockey, baseball.. those all have drafts are the major sports that people watch.. I bowled varsity all 4 years in high school.. the only other people at the lanes were student's parents.. |

Midfielder in soccer, you gotta have crazy endurance to play both offense and defense the whole game, usually they catch most of the flak from the coach, very tough position, you gotta love it to be good at it.

also soccer goalkeeper.
you gotta be absolutely nuts be a keeper. its much like a hockey goaltender minus the padding and swich small puck for size 5 soccer ball. these guys dive right into the fray, often being kicked and cleated all over by players trying to score and all of this just to get the ball. |

To me, it's an outfielder in baseball. You have the sun glaring in your face all the time, plus it's hard to judge the ball on the fly sometimes. Plus it's a helluva lot of running.

Like Tony said on his comercial.....NASCAR. You sit in a car, going in a big circle at 150 plus miles per hour, no breaks, its hot, no radio and you have to hold it in for 2-4 hours. Try that.

Try that. yep,Nascar drivers have it the toughest.not only all the stuff you mentioned but they also have to fight the car to keep control of it and they have to be able to handle all the G-Forces and not pass out. |
