If you don't know this man, try to talk to some people that do know him. Sometimes a background check does'nt mean a whole lot.
Its still a good idea, but someone, even a neighbor could tell you what kind of person he is. There's probably a female near his place plus you might make a new friend.  |

Hello all! It’s me, Jessicapickle. I’m having a pretty crappy day/life. The family who allowed me to stay with them are having a rough time right now, and about two hours ago, I went from having a month to move out,to having a week. I have looked online for apartments for cheap, (even though I have no money) and I have stumbled across a man who works too much and just needs a live in maid. Maid probably isn’t the right term for it, he needs someone to clean up, and to cook once in a while. All the while, I’ll be living for free. I think that that is a great deal, but I am a little weary about it. Can I trust him? He lives a mile and a half away from the job I want (i.e. Pet hospital as a nurse) So I could work and live for free. I’m just scared, and dont know of any other option, besides being homeless. I’m not asking for charity, or sympathy, just for prayers. And if you know of anything else I can do, please share. Thank you. If you can't go to your family than I suggest the following... before you go live with a stranger ask him for 3 to 5 references an call them to make an appointment to meet with them and ask them questions concerning him. Get a copy of his drivers license, or at least look at it and write his name as it appears on it, and have his name checked at a police department. If this guy is clean he will not mind you checking him out if he wont give you the references don't do it. Good luck and PLEASE be safe |

Try that felony check a few people have talked about... I'm not sure how it works buy you can check people out online... I'm sure some online tonight knows how...

Hun, be sooooo careful!!!! I agree with princess....do a check!!!! You can never be too careful.....I'm at loss for words right now....I wish I lived in an actual house cause I'd let you move in with me.....I really would!!! I wouldn't let ANYONE be homeless!!! Especially on JSH!!!  Awww, thank you, I appreciate the offer, and btw, I wouldnt be able to take you up on that, it's not you, it's the MI economy. I've spent time in homeless shelters when I was a kid, it's no picnic. Visit some churches, sometimes kind members will take you in. If you can get into a non state run halfway house, that would be the best. Many homeless people are mentally ill. While that's sad, to a sane person in a shelter, it can be an absolute nightmare. If you do end up in a shelter by no other choice, please be polite and try to keep to yourself. Opening up to people there leaves you open to being taken advantage of.
If you can find a person or people that you think you can trust, that's your best bet imo. Remember the goal is to get back on your feet. Keep that in focus until you have security. Please take care of yourself. |

I've lived in a homeless shelter once when I was 18, I know how to take care of myself. I have no other friends here as well.

Why don't you check out some of the universities around there, someone might be looking for a roommate. Would be better and safer for you cleaning and cooking for a couple of girls than this guy and they would be closer to your age don't you think. Good luck.
