Our friendship grew so quickly,
You can in like a wind-
Spent so much time together
Never thought that it would end.
But something changed along the way,
Guess it was but for a season...
Just as quickly as you came-
You backed out without a reason.
In your altered state
you said some hurtful things
And crossed a line you shouldnt have
You tried to clip my wings.
I made my self too accessable,
out of the purest form of love
Friendship doesnt turn its back
Something you arent aware of.
You taught me things and I grew
Just from knowing you friend
You and I know it wont be the same
So we cant just try and pretend.
We say our pleasantries and move on
our smiles are forced and tense,
Hard to believe how I see you now.
These new eyes just dont relent.
The truths that were there all along-
that I didnt want to see
All too apparent thru these new eyes
As you look back at me.
And easy target with a giving heart
taken yet once again.
I was more of a challange it seems
Than I ever was a friend.
