i would not, i think it has a possibility for disaster when the girlfriend gets pissed and tries to make you choose between the two second if it was my best friend i would have a little more insight into their relationship and have a chance to see how they both act( even if he was a complete dick to her i wouldn't but if that was the case i would let him know he was wrong in the way he treated her but i wouldn't date her)

sure... the thing is that most relationships... take place in your circle of friends... cuz you have a chance to get to know... the people first... and you have known them for a longer time... so you can be sure they are the right one for you...
