If your in a special relationship and you both care about each other, but are so differnt...would you change for that person or continue being just who you are?

you should always be who you are, after all if you were being you up until now thats probably why you are so special to them

If you both care about each other, neither of you should have to change.

We can change certain aspects mostly superficial, but we are who we are. If you need to fundamentally change to sustain a relationship then I'd think it is not one you should be in.

why would you have to change? in order for people to get along you have to have a ton of crap in common? whats the point then? we mise well all be cookie cutters of the same person. and if they like you for you being you who says their gonna keep liking you for being like them?

hell i'd dump somebody that stopped being them and started acting like me in heart beat....... fake ass bastards......

Depends on what I was asked to change. Change my love for the Lord. Not gonna happen. Change what I buy, where I go, how I talk or dress, clean or garden. It could happen.

I couldn't change myself and would not even try. If someone can't love me for me, then he is not worth my time.

grumble if you change for them you are setting yourself up for disaster, they should love you the way you are or they don't love you. they actually love what they want you to be and that is selfish. at least that is my take on the subject.

I am what I am, it's who I am....
Lots of people can love each other and accept each other. But, that doesn't mean they should BE TOGETHER.

A wise man once made this distinction about men and women in relationships-

"Men get into relationships hoping that women won't change. Women get into relationships hoping that men WILL change."

When you fall in love with someone, you fall in love with that person. Not the person you want them to become. This works both ways, if this person doesn't love you for the person you are, the person you have always been, then I don't see it as something that will ultimetly work out.
If you change yourself for another person, you can end up feeling restricted, limited, and eventually will gain anger and resentment at yourself and the other person eventually.

At least, thats how it was for me with my Ex-fiancee. I tried to turn myself into someone I wasn't, and it was devastating. She couldn't accept me for who I am, so I left.
