So my boss is more of a friend than a boss. Shes about the same age as my mom and actually gives me alot of advice. She told me that I need to start going to random places and just make random conversation with guys Im attracted too. I thought it was a crazy idea and before I knew it everyone in the office was on her side and saying it was a good idea....whats everyones thoughts?? She was suggesting places like book stores, electronic stores, etc. She said if I found a guy attractive notice what he was looking at and ask a question in his opinion...

I prefer to keep to myself when Im in public and think it would be rude to bother someone. Just curious...

Has anyone ever done anything like this before? And if so how did it turn out?

It's a great way to meet people..
It sounds weird..but once you just do it,
it's really not that bad. Lol.

I'm a big people person though..
so I pretty much talk to EVERYBODY in public, lol.

My opinion?
Go for it.

 i force myself to talk to strangers, quite alot. my father does it but it comes totally natural to him. i've heard him asked countless times, "do you know him\her" and he'll many times over say,"no, i just started talking to them." unless the person is a complete ass, they normally won't just give you the cold shoulder, but it does happen. i actually had a therapist recommend it before (i'm not insane or anything)

You wont get what you want if you dont reach out and grab it. Its hard to overcome shyness but once you do youll never look back.

<<< Used to be one of the shyist people youd ever meet. Anyone I know now wouldnt believe it.

Talk to strangers all the time. Usually leave them laughing!
(THEY're laughing, not me at them). I get a lot of jokes from funny papers, the newspaper, stuff I read, TV, etc. Humor is a good ice breaker.

I don't mind when people talk to me. If I'm at a cafe or a convenience store or something, I kind of expect it.

Don't much like it when I'm bungee jumping or sky diving, though.

laugh it is very unnerving to have someone strike up a conversation in a restroom stall, next to you, when you know you're both dropping anchorgrumble

its a fun way to meet people. especially if you have good eye contact before you approach. chances are they want to strike a conversation with you too!

hey thats great advice, its always funny to see what that other person is going to do. some people will love that you are talking to them while other people are just going to give you funny looks. take the good with the bad, there is a lot more good though. and have fun with it, just ask compleatly random ass questions.

I pretty much can't stop myself from talking to people in stores, etc. If I am in a long line, by the time we get to the register, I feel like we are old friends.
