so as i was driving home last night, I was listening to Wuthering Heights on audiotape, has anyone ever read this? Or listened to it? I haven't finished it yet, but so far I'm thinking that Heathcliffe and Catherine are just completely selfish ***holes!
Can anyone tell me if it gets better? |

The one novel you simply DON'T want to read is "Tess of the D'Urbervilles"- that's got to be one of the WORST period novels I've ever read. It's SO bad, I don't know how they could use it as a part of the curriculum in High School/College English class. Pure drivel times ten. It's almost as bad as John Knowles' "A Separate Piece", which is pretty much scraping the bottom-of-the-barrel in terms of bad novels. |

I haven't read/heard the audio but I have heard that it is a very very good book... Keep going let us know.. It's a classic!!!

I've owned Tess for many years, but haven't read her yet. I will, I'm sure. I'm on a classics kick and determined to trudge through the whole list and that's on it. But thanks for the warning, I'll just get a fun one to temper it.
