Has anyone ever tried these other dating sites. Plentyoffish, mingles, foundyouonline, American Singles, or true. I have a friend who knows alot of sites and never had any luck, has anyone here tried those? Has anyone tried E-Harmony, it takes forever to do a profile and they want you to pay $50 a month and they won't send you a match until they find one. It sounds as if it would be good, but I don't know for $50 a month

I have been on plentyoffish (but I'm banned from that site). I have also been on American singles, true, match.com, E-harmony (I actually was had a paid membership) and a couple others. Talk about seeking realism in a person.. they're out there.. just not quite sure where!

Good luck w/ you search.

You are so right!

I am on there, waiting for my subscription to run out, I will not be signing back up. My matches dont match me at all

I used e-harmony. HATED it. They decide who you can and can't talk to. I love chatting with anyone. No thanks.

They also would not let me drop the age limit I date. but they'd match me with guys up to 20 years older. no thanks.
I only date younger.

AND when I complained they just gave me a free month. WTH. Who needs an extra month (free or not) with a site you don't like in the first place? laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

And I agree with yellow. I love a place with forums where you get to know a community of people. Nothing better for a whole lot of reasons

I don't date much younger guys, but they matched me with OLD, OLD men WTH!

I had a 3 month subscribtion to E harmony, but quit going there after 1 month & let it expire. I got so many matches I could not keep up , but most stopped communicating after the 1st few steps. People will fill out the standard mulitple choice steps, but when you get to "open communication" it's just like here, people are afraid to write that 1st e mail. Here we have the forums to break the ice & meet friends. Not so there. E harmony is only for finding a match, no political debates or friends. I like that here.

mmmmmmm e-harmony.............i hate that damn song,,,,,, that "this will be! an everlasting love" i struggle to change the channel as fast as i possibly can, before the damn thing's stuck in my head, and the way the owner smiles when he talks, like he's gonna crescendo into the song himself.......

I found my sweetie here. I would NEVER pay to try to find a date anyhow, I have said it before. But if I wanted to spend money to find a date, I'd go to the bar.drinker drinker

if you found your sweetie here, why are you still looking? appparently your sweetie isn't true to you.

keep away from e harmony. all they want is your money. i had a friend who tried it for six months. she was so angry and disgusted. they put on a good ad on tv, but that's it. also match.com is another phony site. they got busted for sending phony letters to people on the site and setting up phony dates. plenty of fish .... the guys post pics that are ten years old. i met guys who were supposed to be in their thirties, but when they showed up they were definitely in their forties. don't pay money to meet people. it is like paying for a prostitute.

I Just got an E mail saying my E harmony account had automatically been renewed! noway I was sure I had turned off the auto renewal. I looked in help find auto renewal, but no way to turn it off. grumble Finnally I found a number, They tryed to get me to stay with a 2for deal, & really pushed trying again, but I stuck to my guns. In the end they satisfied my request, canceled my subscribtion & they are refunding the money to my credit card. It was worth a try , but the forums here at JSH are the best way I have found of meeting people.

Why would the mods or owners for that matter want ot stop this thread? This is the best advertisement for them.

Probably sitting back and smiling.
