What do you think of people who get rabbits, chickens, ducks, etc. as pets for the holidays and then dump them when the novelty wears off?

It pisses me the f$#(^$ off! Since I volunteer at an animal shelter we see baby chicks, ducks and rabbits around easter

I think we should find our old "pet rocks" and find a really good use for them... involving throwing them at said people.

Why would they dump them when there are so many great recipes? I'd rather see them used as food than be neglected and die slow, painful deaths like starvation.

You should never take a pet which you don't intend to keep. People don't realize how important a decision it is when deciding to take on a pet. The idea is nice at the time unfortunately they don't think about the effort it takes.
