This may be a sensitive subject for some but I was wondering if anyone who is adopted or as anything to do with adoption can help me....I am doing a scrapbook 4 my son and I am his birthmom...his adoptive parents asked me to do this....any suggestions?? Like if some of you are adopted what would you ask your birthmom?

I am.... what would I ask her?
About her thoughts while pregnant... about my dad....was I created in love, lust, or other?

What her favourite things were as a kid... her favourite foods, colours, smells, animals, hobbies...

I want to know ALL about her, to get a sense of history... the stories that people reminisce of, when talking with children, and families..

Talk of your parents.... their quirks and hobbies and stuff, any siblings, cousins, all of it...

Grow the family tree outwards in words and pictures,

Thats what I would want.flowerforyou

not becouse any of it would bother me but it would take some

I would want a lock of your hair.

I could have it analyzed later in life. I would never know what you looked like but I would know things about my ancestory, possible genetic diseases, even knowing it came from my mother in an untested state would fascinate me, I think I would treasure it.

he will have lots of pics of me if anything. my adoptive family is very comfortable with this whole thing. adoption has changed quite a bit. I get 2 letters one from the dad n one from the mom along with pics every week. i also have seen him twice since i placed. things may change in the future but they said they plan on me being in his life. sooo we will see...
THANK YOU EVERYBODY

Out of all the information regarding my birth parents, given to me at 18... the one thing that unravelled me, was my birth mother had listed as one of her hobbies, horseriding...

I had been an avid horseperson since I was tiny, and none in my adopted family had anything to do with horses...

I felt closer to her, for having something shared, and unique to just us.

I would definitely give your health history. And I would think that something about why you chose adoption would be incredibly helpful to the child at some point in their life. flowerforyou

I agree with Suzin there....Definately include as much health info as possible

My 1/2 brother is going through a lot of issues with not having any health info from his (real) fathers side.

This is a neat thread and I'm so glad you are doing this for your son and commend his adoptive parents for wanting to share this info with their child.
I was an abandoned child, so it is likely this will never happen for me, but if it did, I would want to know:
Little Kid thoughts:
Why? Did you love me? Do I have any brothers or sisters? Do they remember me?
Adult thoughts:
I'm an aritst, did you create? Does artistic ability run in our family? Who were my grandparents? Who was my Dad? By who was?, I mean what kind of people...did they love animals..tall short, were they funny, did they laugh alot, what did they do for a living etc.
I guess the practical questions would be last on my list, but no less important. Health history, ethnic background, spiritual background
Most of all I would want to thank them as I have had a wonderful life with two people that made my world a very special place to be. I only pray that they suffered no angst from their decision. It's all good. Samma
