Its my boss' Birthday tomarrow. She is giving everyone 4 days off (Yay) so I decided to do something nice. Other co workers were talking (apparently) about a party. I saw the note and thougt it said someone should bring a cake.
I spent 3 days making it NO secret to anyone (other then the boss) that I was making her a cake based off of her favroite thing.
I bring the cake in, i was trying to hide it but i ran into her in the hall way and my boss saw it. She loved the cake and the thought I was just glad she was happy with it.
We start work, no huge deal and the girl whom apparently passed the note around about the cake idea came up and said it was a really b***h thing to do to bring a cake in. She said that everyone knew SHE Was bringing one in. I honestly DIDN'T know she was. She never speaks to me, i had never heard her mention it. Other people knew i was making one.
I tried to appologize and explain that i didn't know she was bringing one and that i was trying to hide the cake until after work but the boss saw it. She wouldn't hear ANY of it and told me to just stay away from her, i was a b***h and don't talk to her.
I tried laster to appologize and talk to her like an adult but she was acting like i shot her friend and stole her husband. Oi i don't know. I feel bad because the other girl brought a cake (apparently). Ive tried to appologize to no avail. . . .

Am i REALLY that bad for bringing my boss a cake? For trying to be nice?

Screw her. Did she even bring a cake anyway? I would think people would be happy to have even more cake. What a freak.

IMO, you didn't even owe her an apology, but it's nice that you apologized. It wasn't your fault at all.

She'll get over it.

I love cake. Especially with vanilla buttercream frosting. And if there is MORE cake, and we all got to take some home... even better!

That person is immature and an attention seeker. You do not owe her an apology. Let her stew about the lack of attention and hold your head high. You did something nice and this idiot is just trying to suck up to the boss.

In the future, watch her and see how she acts around others and how she reacts to deadlines and tasks...I'll bet your bottom dollar that she is one to ride on the shirt tails of those who are productive and excel because she is so insecure and eager to get ahead without "manning-up" and actually doing her job.
