Ok, so I am about to begin driving an 18wheeler, hopefully to make a career out of it, I was wondering if women find truck drivers hot, or if this will officially end my dating career?

the bigger the truck the better
how ever if you are doing long hauls they tend to ruin relationships sometimes

I have been a trucker for alot of years...and although I am no longer long haul, I will say the only thing that will stop your dating is your schedule....your never home

I havta admit, I dated a truck driver once, but now, we're just good friends. It is very hard to have a good relationship while your out on the road. Yea, it's great when you're at home, but it's still very hard while you're gone, b/c depending on the company you're driving for, you're usually gone for a few weeks at a time before coming back home! As for the lot lizards, don't waste your time w/them! They are disgusting! Just think about how many others they have been with! Another thing you have to have is trust! You havta trust your significant other and they havta trust you as well! It's hard. Very hard! But, it does work for some people! Best of luck to you!

Just remember these words,,,,,You dont have time for a family life that load has to be there tomarrow and is more important than your family. No dispatcher will actualy tell you this but that is the reality of life on the road. And it is not as easy or exciting as many would make it out to be,I have been long and short haul and one of those FN dispatchers and a safty man.The company ALWAYS comes first and dont call me after 5 cuz if you do you will be on CRAP loads till the next guy pisses me off(And this what dispatchers do do)4 relationships down the drain later I'm running short and still having a dang tough time trying to have a decant relationship, not to many woman can handle having an honest relasionship with a drivergrumble And as for lotlizzards, dont mess with them, you WILL get more than what you want and probly end up in more truble than they are worth. Not to mention the law stings that happen in Truck stops all over the country.
This is just an opinion of an old Driver, and yes I have more than 20years over the road, what ever you do Just be carefull on the road. drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinkerdrinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker

I will be home 2 days every other week, from what I am told. I will stay away from the "lizards" I am not that kinda guy. I am hoping to only have to do over the road for 2 years, them my father can get me on at his work as a switcher, so I will be home every night, I just don't really wanna go 2 years without a girl in my life, especially being 21 years old. If I go 1 year and don't like it, I have already taken some college course's and am one semester away from a certificate in Computer Networking. Just as stated above, that is a long time to be single at my age.

Hay Chase, see if you can find a rock hauling or dumptruck driven job to cute your teath on.It would be less head aches for you and you might be able to see if you really want to drive.Long and short will kill a family life.local would be best for you to start with even if its for less money than you would like.It would be a start and your not regreting it laterdrinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker drinker

driveing a turck is a very lonely life. there is no glamour. you go somewhere, pick up a load of something, drive clear across the country makeing a dead line to deliver.your kind of your own boss on the road except that you have your dispatcher, the shiper, the receiver, the broker, the cops,DOT,the ideots on the road all on your ass. oh and don't get cout with a radar detector in your truck 250.00 fine in Texas. all kind of things can go wrong with your truck and have to be fixed by someone like me. I could go on and on.

I have been out on the road twice, six weeks at a time, oversized longhaul. I had a permit, but never got my CDL. I wouldn't want to be a driver if I had a family, but for a young single person I think it could be a great experience. It would be hard on a realationship unless there was a lot of trust.
