I was just watching a PBS show about generations form the 50s, 60s,....all the way to 90s music and culture. It seems that any of us that lived through or grow up in 50s, 60s, 70s, have seen more and given back more to society, culture, and "human kind" then all other generations before or after. So are we done? Can we do more? What about younger generations is it their turn? Will they accomplish as much? Or are they pretty much out to lunch.... just curious about "our" opinions.

The bible says that younger generations will be weaker but wiser. They'll grow up, later than we did. We raised the "X" generation, I am not counting them out yet.

My daughters are in their 30's, they're two accomplished women in their own right.

I had my babies in my early twenties, they helped me to grow up.
I am just becoming a grandma and I've witnessed my youngest's growth. There are many of life's situations that are meant to make you grow up, parenthood is one of them.

I haven't done all that much, personally. I have voted in every Presidential election since the 70s and most general elections since 2000. I think our generation lived through some momentous historical occasions: assassinations, moon landings, walls coming down, etc. I don't think any generation ever is gonna live through things like that again, but only time will tell.

I think we're fortunate to be living at this time in history and I hope that our generation and the generation to come are able to solve some of the problems currently facing his country. We have to get a rein on government spending before calamity strikes. I'm pretty shaken up about this issue currently and our government seems to be asleep at the switch where fiscal responsibility is concerned.

it has gotton to the point (in the states anyway)

that the kids have learned to manipulate the system

to their benefit (short term)

thus this creates an owe me attitude

this creates takers

hopefully this will soon change now that the

owe me generation are having kids

the i want my kids to have it better than i had it

lead to this situation

nothing wrong with wanting kids to have it better

if you teach them how to earn it

I do not believe we should embrace giving up. Passing the torch starts at the moment our hearts conceive the hopes for future generations. As long as we breathe, everyone has the ability, capacity and stimulus to continue. Each generation plays tag with the next. We weave and leave threads that connect to the tapestry we think is our own, yet in reality..it is everyones.

Bonnie, I totally agree with you! GOOD MUSIC does not include what "the kids" call music.

My sons tell they wish they could have lived in the 60's for the music and life was better.

The times have changed drastically sinc the 60's, I won't give up on the new generation, we made a lot of bad decisions when we were young, they are going through the same phases as we did.
I am willing to give them the chance

I won't give up either.
Most just need alot more education in how life really is.
Many of us learned the hard way.

I wish I woulda knowed that all that stuff I saw, like Woodstock,anti-war rallies,and concerts was gonna be so important...I'da takin' better notes

We are so fortunate that we didn't have then the things we have now. allot of us would'nt be here It's a whole different attitude & circumstance now. It's hard to tell if we as a people have learned anything from that time, the war, riots , police violence on the crowds. Thankfully disease free also.

I would like to say we have learned something from those days, but it does not seem to show up in continuing a war and losing people to countries who seem to show hate and content towards us. Where are the protesters marching in the streets protesting to George W. to stop the killing and bring our young beautiful troops home... send me back to the Age of Aquarius where we were sure we could make a difference.
