Hmmm... I'm not sure.
On the one hand such things could potentially warp young minds into something truly horrible and harmful. The parents could possibly prevent something that drastic from happening by monitoring behavior and explaining right from wrong instead of merely censoring the content. On the other hand, like in japan, children introduced to such idea at an early age may thing of it as common place and not care as much by adulthood, possibly making them better people. It's a tough call, but I think we should look to the spirit of a law instead of the law itself. It was put in place fore the safety of children and that should be the ONLY reason for or against the topic of public nudity. I think that being a society of people based in the prudish puritan beliefs of our ancestors, we have forgotten exactly why these laws have been put in place to begin with. |

It's not the responsibility of television to teach morals. It's not the governments place either. Morals, class, etc. is the peoples responsibility, not television, the government, etc. JMO

no dont want kids flipping through to see that stuff That's why there's parents, remote controls, and the V-chip Well I for one get sick of flipping channels and seeing so much of it, and Im an adult. Can we not leave anything to the imagination anymore. I think as women we are often looked at as sex objects or how hot we are. We are so much more than t and a... Not everyone wants to see it all the time. JMO It is my personal theory that it is in fact the restriction that causes a lot of the objectification of women. I speak from experience as a former perverted bastard. When I was not allowed to see such things, I couldn't get enough and I really treated women horrible, yet when I obtained freedom and could do that without any more hassle, I suddenly stopped... I actually wanted to treat women better as something more because they are. Maybe that was just my personal case, but I always thought that a looser leash could teach a child right from wrong better than a stranglehold. As the song said, "Hold on loosely, but don't let go... if you cling too tightly, you're gonna lose control." Granted I'm pretty sure they were not talking about parenting, but still... |
