The other day I told someone how long I had been sober, and it occured to me that I should be proud of myself, I just had to let someone know. I started shooting up at 13. I was addicted to crack, coke, and heroin, well nething that would kill me really. I quit on my own, with no drugs, no family, no friends, no help, no meetings, nothing but me and my withdrawl. I should be dead. I was down to 60-70lbs and am currently up to 95lbs. I've been sober now for 4 yrs, 3 months, 3 days, 19 hrs, 53 minutes. I know that alot of you might be like "uh....ok, so?" but I just needed to get that out. thanks for reading. i think that you are a very brave and wise young woman. and i admire you for your decision to live in the real world. i wish you the best in all that you do.yahooooooo for you!!

I think thatis absolutely great. I think the Lord has blessed you and he wants a personal relationship with you. I can give you the details, if you'd like. You could also see the book "The Purpose Filled Life" and your local Christian church for details. I've struggled with substance abuse and addiction myself, but not to the extent that you have. I hope and pray you continue with your sobriety and I pray that God will continue to help you.

Hurray for you. You are to be much admired. Most people dont have the strength of will power to accomplish lesser things than that. It is something definitely worth wearing as a medal of honor. Wishing you lots of blessings! Mona

Looks to me like you traded one addiction for another. Interests......Drinking. Drinks? Often. Anybody that really gets sober and I mean Sober does it for themself and doesn't have to get an approval from the world. No pat on the back from me. I give you 2 thumbs up for being the biggest jackass on JSH....woot woot...kick rocks!

I dont know you, but im proud of you. I had someone in my life that had Love,a good family, College Degree, and a good job, but they could stop. Im still mad at him, and miss him. Stay straight, and strong.

i take demerol, which is a class A controlled drug. once i decided not to take it again. i was totally fine and had no withdrawals at all, and i had no help at all. i didnt take it for around 2 months. unfortuately i couldnt cope with the pain so a few months later i had to go back on it. thats was a shame but,im confident now that when i come off it again ill be ok, as ive done it before with no help and i was fine.

You should be proud of yourself! Give yourself a pat on the back! Treat yourself to some chocolate. I have a close friend that's over 100 days clean now. Yes, we count the days.

No pat on the back from me. often for me is like once a month, but thanx for your honest opinion. i like drinking but can really hold my alcohol, plus i have ulcers, so i cant drink hard or anything cuz it just comes up blood.
