any one know of any other good ones that are free? This is the best one I've found, and I've tried a bunch of them. Most don't have forums, so you're stuck with profiles (usually empty, poorly filled-out, or completely incomprehensible) as your only way to learn about people. The ones that do have forums, the forums tend to be either acrimonious snake pits or nothing but sex-spam competitions. I heard about one free site last year and -- I am not making this up -- EVERY e-mail I've gotten on that site (and that's a lot) has been from a scammer. I don't think there's a real person on that whole site! Even the sites that aren't total train wrecks have their downsides -- few or no local members, no way to contact the site owners if there's a problem, bad layouts, no mail filtering options, etc. If there's one that's anywhere near as good as JSH, I haven't found it. |

Keep in mind that some of the ones that come up will offer a free sign-up, with limited options/access, while others will be completely free. So you may need to do some research into that part of it. There are a LOT of totally free sites out there, and I'm not going to give them any publicity, because a.) as Lilith said, it's technically against the rules, and b.) I personally don't think any of the ones I've tried are worth the time and energy of filling out a profile. But that's just me. |

"well said" Lex honey....we have become quite loyal to this site...good people , Im havin a blast !!! very friendly ! and quite a witty bunch ..and Ive not found that sense of community else-where , and that goes for the guys and girls a like ...I feel like people got my back here, and Im very loyal back for that, and that is a dating site 1st for me... ~wicked~ (newby girl on the block) |

who cares? the gang's all here!
 yeah there are tons. mostly lame. ymmv. there have been threads on this before. if you look around there are consumers reports style rankings of various social/dating sites. go forth and give us a report back!! keep in mind that it's winter and all the HOTT chicks are in hibernation. yeah - that's why it might be kind of difficult...
