This is something we're just p1ssing away (its a pun-you'll see)

It is estimated that by the year 2050 (42years from now-most of you will be dead) that 3,ooo,ooo,ooo people will be without adequate water.....

CURRENTLY;

12,ooo,ooo die every year due to inadequate water supplies world wide. DIE EVERY YEAR 12,ooo,ooo caused by water, not oil, water!!

out of the last 50 armed confrontations in the world in recent history(75years) 30 of those have been between Isreal and Syria and of course Palistenians. At odds over religious disagreements, yes, but also WATER. Since Israel’s 1967 occupation of the Golan Heights, Israel has claimed the territory as its own. To move peace negotiations forward, Israel should consider desalinization of the Mediterranean Sea as an alternative water source, and return the Golan Heights to Syria under a water-sharing agreement similar to that between Israel and Jordan.

The current water dilema has caused many countries to dam up many rivers causing large bodies of water to pool where nature has not intended. this has caused the earth to actually wobble on its axis much like a top with a piece of gum on one side and not the other. this wobble could be the cause of some already happening enviromental changes in our world.

any thoughts or any effects going on in your neck of the woods... water rights are being bought up by large companies and the water is being sold to cities all over.

As demand for water hits the limits of finite supply, potential conflicts are brewing between nations that share transboundary freshwater reserves. More than 50 countries on five continents might soon be caught up in water disputes unless they move quickly to establish agreements on how to share reservoirs, rivers, and underground water acquifers. The articles and analysis below examine international water disputes, civil disturbances caused by water shortages, and potential regulatory solutions to diffuse water conflict.

water is the most important resource

many have/will die for it and/or the lack of it

"One of the biggest likely areas of conflict is going to be over water,'' said Wald, former deputy commander of U.S. European Command. He pointed to the Middle East and Africa.

Argentina has one of the largest sources of fresh water in world. The politicians here are already frothing at the bit willing to pimp out this country to the highest bidder while lining their pockets with the profits...
I know your post was intended to be toung in cheek, but its a lot closer to reality than you intended.
Frankly, I do hope Im dead by then...but I weep for my grandchildren and they legacy we are leaving behind for them.

"we do not inherit the earth from our forefathers, we borrow it from our children..."

the US is the largest consumer/user of (and by proxy has the largest amount of) underground water supply. thats wells and springs according to the national geological foundation.

I have been researching stocks in companies that are water related, there will be a lot of infrastructure needed.

Members of the Bush administration have already visited Argentina as recently as last month to look over certain tracks of land known for their underground water supply...it was supposed to be hush, hush but the public found out about it and sent the land speculators packing....there was a public outcry, a few politicos got embarrassed and for now the pimps are laying low.....

some how i knew bush would enter into this discussion.

the largest group of people buying up water rights are european companies such as vindy (a french weasle company)

Nope, it was the USA and who is the President of the USA today? Bush, sooooo why wouldn't I name him? Unless you are implying that the current administration (who will go unnamed) is a corporate lacky, in which case you I concur with your statement.

I don't know a lot about the water supply, but my common sense tells me that with all the modernization all over the globe that the likelihood is that much of our surface waters throughout the world is being polluted. It would also stand to reason that with the bottled water craze, we are probably taking out groundwater at rates that were not meant to be.

In connection with the above, what bothers me is that corporations are privatizing everything. I pay over $100 every three months for water, and I am one individual. With all that is happening ..... water polution, and water shortage, and etc., water is going to become more and more expensive since it is going to cost more money to filter it and make it suitable for human use.
