ok ill spill. its a BOMARC missile. They were used on our northern
border for air defense. radar guided anti aircraft misile. used for shooting the soviet bombers out of the sky not unlike skeet. This one is from the 37th missile defense squadron stationed in Raco Michigan. 400 mile range, mach 3.5. accuracy- 10 feet. used in conjuncrtion with the SAGE computer system, which was the first use of a computerised fire control system by a missile. |

this is a BOMARC B which was deployed in 1963 i believe, until 1979 when
all BOMARC SITES were decomissioned. great DEFENSIVE weapon... unless you lived in Canada WHERE THEY WOULD BE EXPLODING AMONG FLOCKS OF RUSKI BOMBERS. |
