I was talking to someone. And of course I am a huge animal person. And while I know that not everyone likes animals why on earth would you give someone who does a hard time?
Yes, I have 5 kids. I juggle two jobs on the norm. Plus I help my mom out with stuff. ( She has health issues ) But why say that having an animal is too much work? not worth it? Grr! My animals are part of the family. I dont consider them to be extra work. They are less fickle than most people. And will love you unconditionally just because you keep their dishes full and scratch their back.

So I guess the question is. If you know someone is an animal person and you are not. Why even try to make something happen? I was married to a person like that. It drove me absolutely nuts.
Sorry, had to rant! lol....

my brother and his fiance have 5 cats, and they foster one to, and a dog. in the uk, theres a law of how many cats you can have, and i think its 6, thats why they can only only foster one cat. in my opinion thats to many, but its not of my business and im not one to judge. im allergic to cats anyway laugh laugh

My potential mate would HAVE to love animals, especially dogs!! I lost Simba my 14 year old dog last Sept. she was my BEST friend. She had an inoperable tumor above her eye and I spent over $1400 on her, lost a girlfriend cause she thought that was too much money to spend on an animal, that was the last time I have talked to her and I made the RIGHT choice kicking her to the curb!!

I understand allergies too. I'm not so much a cat person as I am a dog person. My son has allergies to long haired cats.. They bring on his asthma. So no cats.
I think the law here is no more than 3 dogs to a household. Anything more and you need to have a kennel license. ( I could be wrong )

yes cats cause my asthma to get bad unless i have a anti histamine. i know there are rules to how many pets you can have but im not 100 percent sure on how many. if you have lots of pets, just make sure you have a big enough house and space for them, and you can afford them, and vets bills.

absolutely ya have to be able to afford them. Alot of places offer insurance for pets. I've never had the insurance. I just make sure if they are sick or need shots or have health issues they are taken care of. They're just like one of my kids to me.

We used to have a beautiful German Shepherd. He had to be put to sleep a week before he turned six. He had a whole mess of problems. Epilepsy, Hip Dysplasia, Arthritis. Each seizure that he had was worse than the last. He was taking meds to help with them but the meds did not work. The last one that he had. It took him 20 minutes to come out of it. And then he couldn't get up. He could lift his head but that was it. I carried my 120 pound dog to the vet hoping for a miracle cure. I ended up taking him back home with me and burying him. That about killed me. But, when he looked at me that last time. He was so sad and lost. It was time to say goodbye.

And I willingly open myself up to that with other dogs or animals. They need love and care too.
