According to HIPAA, you cannot disclose private medical information at anytime or to anyone. Upon being hired, you should have signed a confidentiality agreement. I would kindly suggest that he may not be the right one for her. She obviously must know where you worked and hopefully she would take that subtle hint and leave it at that. That way you're not in any way breaching that confidentiality.

So sue me....I'd rather be poor and broke then put a family member on their death bed or a life of pain and suffering. |

What did you say to her? ok this is what i said. i would tell her weve got to go home now, and to get no contact details from him, if it was likely she would see him again, for example if they both went to the same night club every week, i would tell her he was hiv posotive. if she wouldnt go home, and do the above, i would tell her straight he was hiv posotive. SEE I KNEW YOU WOULD !!  i couldnt see any of my family die or friends when i could have prevented it. i would say FU*K the job. |
