I have been with my company for 8 yrs and since the new owner took over ,it has been a living h*ll..we found out yesterday that we have no i.d. #'s on our paycheck stubs...so if the business folds we can't collect unemployment. Today I was asked to fill in for an absent employee and do her job ( no problem....I've done it many times) but I was constantly put down that I wasn't doing it correctly and told that I could be replaced for less money as the company is struggling. I did kinda flip out on my boss at that point and told him I was leaving. He told me I was uncool (lol) and to go and then yelled ...see ya tommarrow! So I left. He will be screwed if he fires me but ,I can't work with him anymore. But it seems I am up the creek with no paddle here if I leave. Any opinions? I don't know what to do.

Stick with this crapy boss and his lousy job until you find something better. Re create your resume into something spectacular! Someone who is worthy will bite.

Stay until you find something else. Once you wrap your head around the fact that it's just a matter of time, it'll be easier to deal with him. Don't put yourself in a bind over your frustration, that will hurt you more than them.

Yea. You're going to have to swallow your pride and stick with this job until you find another. The best revenge will be walking away and into a new and better job.

I just lost my job a month ago; my boss just up and closed the company; now I'm on my own right with no paycheck. The job market sucks; companies are closing left and right. If I were you hon I'd stay; I know it sucks but you have a job. Wish I had one.

Why would some id number on a check make a difference in unemployemnt ..I thought you walked out that is willful misconduct and you prob can't get it anyway ... An ex employee tried to get unemployment and they told her that there is no i.d. # so her case is pending .....the business keeps changing titles |

did he violate the warn act .. you can sue ... I'm not sure what he did; business was bad just like everywhere; all I know is I got no vacation or severance pay; I was with him for 14 yrs. I understand business is business -- it wasn't personal; but my boss was a coward for the way he handled employees who were loyal to him.
