Really irks me that so many people don't know the difference between you're and your. I think you should know that from like the 3 grade on. And this whole text message society is killing me, you all heard about that kid that turned in an essay, written in nothing but text messaging style? I swear, we should just kill everyone from the age 11 to 17 now and start over.

It really doesn't matter that much to me, IF I can make out whatever it is they're trying to communicate. But the longer I'm here, the lower the literacy rate becomes. A year from now, we'll need a One-Syllable Words Only forum. Actually, that might be a good idea right now.
As for the typing itself -- if writing is intended to be a form of communication, then it seems to me you would want to do whatever is necessary to get the message across, clearly and unambiguously. Let me know if/when people ever start doing that here. |
