Seems that Karl Rove tried to smear Don Siegelman, an Alabama Democrat.

I guess it just goes to show that there is no depth that neocon Republicans will go to get what they want.

Just like he tried to smear John McCain in the 2000 election with a whisper campaign alleging that he had fathered a black child out of wedlock. (He has an adopted daughter from Bangladesh.) As a result, McCain lost the primary that year.

First of all, Rove is no genius. If others had his morals, or lack thereof I should say, they could be a "genius" like him, too. He has no conscience. He will smear anyone to accomplish his political mission.

Secondly, I do not hate Republicans, conservatives or moderates. I consider myself a moderate. There are many Republicans that I admire, not necessarily agree with, but admire nonetheless. Presidents Bush 41, Reagan, Ford and Eisenhower. Here in Maryland, we had a fine man named Charles "Mac" Mathias serve as a Republican U.S. Senator for two terms. Barry Goldwater. There are others.

And one thing I can say with confidence, is that all of them have morals far superior to Mr. Rove.

We really need another Goldwater conservative in office. Unfortunately, there's no such thing these days.
