TRUST: (scandinanian origin): assured reliance on character, ability,
strength, one in which confidence is placed, dependence on something future or contigent, hope, a charge of duty imposed in faith or confidence as a condition in some relationship, something committed or entrusted to one to be used or care for in the interest of another, something without fear or misgiving, to rely on the truthfulness of or accuracy, to BELIEVE, expect confidently, to extend credit to... yep...a mouthful for sure... so easy for some and so damn hard for others... why is it some people we trust so easily until we think we have something to lose and we contuinue to hold back??? naturally the answer is fear of getting hurt... then your mind knows the old saying..there is nothing to fear but fear itself...it is worse than jumping off a cliff, at least then, you know the end result is death, right... all right, I'll stop.. Ya'll just chew on that, I am curious to see further responses on this one... |

feel they have to lie, cheat and betray.......I learned the hard way, but toughened up real fast. |

I haven't read this whole thread so if it had been said I
appologize..... Trust is earned over time and builds the longer you know a person. Takes years to build at times and can be Crushed with one stupid move or mistake (and at times can be shattered with a 2nd hand lie if you don't truly trust your friend).... |

Very true statment. Not that i haven't screwed up before, but how can
ppl be so uncaring about trust? For some its like "what they don't know won't hurt them". |

Most people, I think, are basically trustworthy - it's the people with
major mental health/addiction issues you have to watch for, as well as people who have a ****load of baggage (hint: if they talk about their parents/ex-lovers etc. a LOT, then run). Look at all the people who wrote here, saying they want to trust and others can trust them - we are in the majority I think. If you're not sure about someone, run them by your friends or kids...usually someone will give you some decent feedback. If you get a gut feeling that someone is "too good to be true", or you feel uncomfortable in any way, trust that. And keep looking! |
