“What is in Store?”

We hang up from our call.
Then I walk down the hall.
As I pull back the covers.
Deep down burn the ambers.
Of a desire one more time.
Just to find that mountain to climb.
Not sure how far I can see.
Could this actually be?
The one I have been looking for.
And what ahead is in store?
Do we really ever know?
What life will bestow.
You see it finally seems.
You’ve drifted into my dreams.
As your lips reached mine within a kiss.
Making me remember what I miss.
Just to have someone to touch.
Oh how I have missed that so much.
Just to run my fingers through your hair.
And have a lifetime of love to share.
Even though not knowing what is ahead.
This time we have spent I will never dread.
For you see you have become a dear friend.
That will remain within my heart till the end.
