Is acupuncture to the point now where it is covered by insurance? Is it commonly accepted medicinal practice?

That varies by insurance companies , I can tell you that United Health Care covers some and Blue Cross Blue Shield .. but has Far has I know Medicare which is sort of what a lot of insurance companies follow does not .. It is up in the air ..

In Australia, many alternative therapies are covered by health insurance, including acupuncture. Here too , I am debating on if I want massage covered , Insurance would then set rates and standards and I hate to see it lose the art form that massage truly is .. yes it would be great for more people but maybe not so great for the therapist.. I personally do have some insurance clients and I take what the insurance company pays and then they pay a copay .. I have 2 drs here in town that write the refferals to me .. but then it does add to my cost the filing and waiting for a check .. unfortunately like in any small business this is passed on to the client .. |

Well, me being me, for now I'll see what my DO says and roll with it. If it does not fix the problem, then I'll have to go with plan "B". I'm definately going to ask about massotherapy, though.

I wanted to start a thread that has to do with Hollistic Healing examples....Karma Tips....Feng Shui......Spiritual Awareness... etc... Would anyone else be interested if I did? and where in the community would one start a thread like that do you suppose?  I think this would be absolutely phenomenal!  Sent you a private email ;o) Since this is not only the field I work in professionally, but also about everything I hold dear & sacred, I would love to help in anyway I could |
