Do not store up treasures for yourself here on earth...
but rather store them up in Heaven... |

Yes absolutely. But Yahshua told them they were prophesied they would do this. Then it becomes a very signicant event. Blessings...Miles
Just one other point many people may not know. He did this 2 times. Within the 4 days before his death and when John the Baptists was still alive.. |

I'm pretty sure he is saying do not be a banker. Also do not sell goats in the temple |

at the time alot of people were makin money off the temple, it was like they were selling salvation for a profit....
same thing you see alot of the modern day preacher doing...same thing different day |

Rabbitt I think he like who everybody else who was in charge didn't. Maybe it was goats milk. Some of it is not to bad.
Thier is alot more to it in the prophesies he quoted about them. It says as early as he started his ministry that they searching out how they could kill him. John called these same people when he saw them he said..who warned you brood of Vipers of the wrath to come. This all goes towards alot of what Yahshua said. The 1st time he ran them out I believe is in John chapter 2 or 3.. Blessings of Shalom...Miles |

They were money changers. In other words, they were converting money from one countries to another and cheating the people. These weren't just any people, they were people coming to the Lord's temple. Then the people selling animals, they used the Gentile area to hold the animals. The Temple had a special area for Gentiles to come, because all were welcome in God's temple. That area was taken from human use and used for livestock. Another thing is that God required a spotless animal sacrifice. The people selling animals would look at someone's sacrifice and say things like "Is that what you are going to sacrifice to the Lord? Look, just buy this goat from me, it's better, it will be a better sacrifice." Then they would charge an large sun plus the other guys animal and then sell the first guys animal to the next guy through the gates. The temple grounds weren't being used to make money, they were being used to make money through very underhanded tactics. That's why Jesus was mad. God required that Jews come to the Temple at least once a year and the people of Jerusalem took advantage of them.

Access to God is not for sale and grieves truth.
I get pissed at the same thing too! But I don't knock over the tables and shoo the clowns out of the circus, either. BUt His point is well taken. WWJD? Same as it ever was.... and you might ask yourself, " this is not my fine house" " same as it ever was... same as it ever was..." Michael Byrnes. Talking Heads...remember that rock band, kids? |
