its come to my attentio n that churchs in my area have been turning people in need mind you away not to long ago a single mother of four sought out help from one such church for help with the power bill and maybe get some food donation the church had her fill out a 3 page forum and told her they would call her now after waiting a few days she called them only to here the fact that she did not meet the critieriea so now instead of here family looking towards the love of god that should shine through this "church" they look towards other option the mother now has to work to jobs and these young children have to pull an extra heavy burden.......so my question is if these churchs preech the word of jesus and jesus said turn no man away what gives the church the right to

Honestly Bro Im not real religious at all, but I do believe in god. I don't believe that God answers our prayers I think he puts us in a position so that we can answer our own.

the ones who haven't had the wool pulled over their eyes yet know this but for people that just need some guidance
this event should help them understand this

Why should I believe that this happened? If I assume that this event you described is true, why should that negatively influence my opinion of any other church? Why should it negatively influence my opinion of the church in question, when I don't know their financial information, how much money the woman requested or how many others the church is helping? There is always someone looking to give religion a black eye, why should I take such a negative story at face value? I know someone who was in a similar situation and got the help she needed. Not from the first church she went to, but after several. Many people are needy this time of year and no church can help everyone who comes to their door. If they did, then they would have to close their doors permanently.

To SNOW:

That is such b.s. - I am not defending the church, but how do you know that the church isn't helping 40 other families in the same or worse position that this mother was/is in?

My question is, What was she doing/not doing to put herself in that kind of a situation? My mother would have done anything she could to make sure we were all clothed, fed and had a place to sleep every night. Those things don't just happen overnight.

this church is infamous for this there is no way for me to convince you one way or another thats nots the point but to sit there and think that just cause this church is sitting under a holy name doesnt make it infoulable man is flawed and in case you forgot man runs the church

So it's one church? And it's known for this practice? Sounds to me like it's a bad church, I wouldn't go there. But how is this an indictment on religion in general? I'm not saying that the church is infallible, but I'm not going to allow one negative story, with no supporting material, to paint my opinion of organized religion.

I watched the first part of it. There was so much false information that I didn't see any point in wasting anymore time to watch the rest.

oh okay thats good for you but if it wasnt for science the pope would still be whipping people for saying the world was round its been through the ages that man has slowly dictated his own practices and beliefs into the beauty of god

The Greeks and Romans believed, before Jesus was born, that the earth was round. There were several people ex-communicated from the early church for teaching that the earth was flat. In other words, the Catholic church never punished anyone for not believing in a flat earth...quite the opposite when you look at the historical record.

What does that have to do with the "woman" from your story? Nothing. And story it was, simply made up to give Christianity a black eye.

ah yes, about Horus, is peculiar. (and proberly much more), but the 'money' part sounded very logical.
the catholic church is a very rich religious organisation.

I am suprised at the willingness to defend this churches actions. Can anyone tell me where it says in the holy Scriptures that if someone asks you for help that they should fill out a form first? Who can tell me where this is? You can not. This is not What Yahshua our messiah Taught. This is the very thing he called the pharasees VIPERS for. They will not lift a finger to do what they preach. That is a Viper. Yahshua said if someone asks you for something and you have it to give it to them. Not fill out any form. Thats disquesting to me. You all call upon a name that preaches this that is the problem. Then when you are told what the scriptures say you balk at it. You are no different than that church. You are that church. May Yahweh Have Mercy on The Downtrodden..Miles
