Who knows Bro. I would have hit on a chick last night but she had her kid with her. I got one myself, but felt like it was inappropriate timing.

how come women often wear non-engagement or wedding rings on their ring fingers when they're single?

There were at least three girls this week who I would have talked to, except that they had a ring on their ring finger...only to later see that it was just a fashion or art ring. (Which may have been an engagement ring, but likely not unless it was some cheap bf shopping in a crackerjack box!)

You've got to perfect the ring glance...Usually you can tell whether it's a wedding or engagement ring or not...

I've got it down pretty good (couldn't do much about these few, they were on the notoriously unstable trolley) but it seems like these women are shooting themselves in the foot...

You made up your mind too soon sunshine, if you were really interested in them you would have seen they were decorative not engagement/wedding etc.

Who knows if I was interested in them or not. They were prospects nothing more. For all I knew, they might have been ignorant dolts who just looked pretty. My point being that if they were really nice, I want to make sure things at least have a shot before I put myself out there. If there's a ring, I'm not likely to think that there's a shot...making the guy discern whether it's an engagement ring or not seems to be a bit of an ill-guided intention.

Dont agree, I do have this one particular ring which only fits on my ring finger (granted I dont wear often) but when I do it clearly cannot be mistaken for an eng/wedding ring. I will not size the ring, because it's a pretty old ring (family heirloom).
(doesnt make it right/wrong just my opinion)

fran - I'm not saying you're right or wrong for doing that, and I'm not saying that guys shouldn't ever have to do a little thinking to figure it out...I'm just pointing out to women that a lot of times guys won't put the effort in and will assume you're taken because it's way safer than winding up hitting on a married woman without realizing it.

Although, given the responses of most girls here...apparently the fact that a woman is married doesn't deter too many guys. noway

Thanks for pointing out the fact that oftentimes girls do little or nothing to discourage men from hitting on them even when they're taken. I would have been crucified if I suggested that. Sometimes they even encourage them. I agree it's crazy.

To me that shows a complete lack of respect on both sides of the equation. Not that you can't talk or anything, but at least have the decency to cut it off with your s/o before you go into the heavy flirting and whatnot noway
