I smoke and i like to smoke and to tell you
The truth i would find me a new job but that's
Just me smokin smokin smokin smokin

It's my freedom not the insurance companies
To pass all these laws on me as long as i keep
My manners about myself and not force it down
Other peoples face and lungs

Who are they to tell me how to live my life
Just my O/p of course bigsmile

Let me first say I am a smoker.
Tulsa passed a city ordinance stating you cannot smoke on any hospital campus. Employees CAN leave hospital property but you must clock out. Even patients have to leave campus! I go for 10-12 hours a day without a cigarette but my employees choose to go smoke. It is a tough rule to enforce. You have choices, you can either not smoke at work, quit smoking or find another job.

when u work with idiots like i do, and under lots of pressure u need 2 smoke.
or u will go crazy

Surely there are other things you can do to relieve stress! I've had an incredibly stressful job for 2 years and I haven't started smoking yet!

i suppose i could eat and get fat.
chew gum and get jaw ache
or just b a miserable so and so lol

We have a smoking policy at work, and as i work nights u cant leave the building.
They caught a few of us on CCTV going outside, but they have no evidence of us smoking.
I made a few good excuses why i left the building.
But in the letter it states, suspended due to smoking in the loading area.
i suppose i will have 2 c what happens next,

I wouldn't push the issue. you are in a catch thirteen. You say you are simply suspended right now right? I think you said later o that it was four days? Well, you COULD legally get it turned if there is no evidence of you smoking. However, they could legally turn around and say, well you left the bldg at night, thus causing a security violation/risk (which is why most places that lock down at night do so) and thus you are now terminated.

Keep in mind also there is no business on earth that is REQUIRED to provide a smoke break, or even a place to smoke for smokers. It is our right to smoke, yes, it is THEIR right to choose whether we smoke on their property, or even on there time (they can legally require you to punch out for your normal fifteen minute break and leave company property in order to smoke. They can even tell you you can not smoke in your own car while on company property for the simple reason they do not want that image in their company.

So all in all, I would say be greatfull all you got was a suspension, and do not push the issue.
