As the angels fly
far and above
they have touched my heart
with so much love

On this earth
I have beheld their faces
they have taken me
to brand new places

They have showed me the pain
they have showed me the suffering
throughout this world
and the heartache it brings

I was cut to my soul
to have seen what I saw
I could only stand there
and watch it in awe

My heart was breaking
I couldn't hold my tears
I fell to my knees
as I witnessed their fears

Why was I chosen
to see these things
and hear the song of sorrow
that the angels did sing

I asked, what can I do
I am just a man
how can I stop this
when no one else can

I looked up
into one angels face
I begged him please
take me from this place

He said Daniel
this is for you to see
because you can touch others hearts
with your words and sincerity

My strength was gone
I couldn't get up
but he handed me something
and said drink from this cup

I felt very strange
after I finished this drink
but when I stood up
it had renewed my strength

This is a heavy load
that I must bear
but when any of you need me
I will be there..

Daniel I can't stop crying......I too have felt and lived this exact poem.....Thank you soooo much for the share....I have read poetry on and off since I have been on jsh and even had a few of my own here.....This one is by far my most favorite and the one that touched my heart the most.....Im still crying....

Absolutely beautiful!!!! I must stop reading all your wonderful poems and look forward to reading more once home from school. THey're going to fire me, if I don't get ready and get to school!!!

I will say this, I do believe God has chosen you to do wonderful things for people (hurting or not). You've been an inspiration to us all. God bless you for that. He does give us the strength when we feel we can't go on even another day. I teach spec. ed. and I'm just finishing the worst month and a half of the entire school yr. (Alternate Assessments, state tests, progress reports, report cards, assist. evals, prof. growth plans.... and the list goes on......!)I love my students to death. Just wish it was more time with them, where I know God has given me a love and talent to touch these needy children.

I'm soooooooo happy at the end of today we're on a WEEK's VACATION!!!!!!
