religions seems pretty male chauvenistic, huh? Where does this come from? Is he really a male chauvenist or is this the men who write the religions showing through?

flowerforyou The so called "One True God" of the monotheistic religions is actually androgynous.flowerforyou It is the followers of those religions that assign human traits to that deity.flowerforyou

Of course they do; after all, males were the ones in the places of power, and what better way to keep the power than to create a powerful, spiteful male deity that declares females less than men to keep that power?

@MirrorMirror: So, basically, they don't know what they believe in, so they just make it so that they "believe" in what they want to believe, especially since human traits are things like "loving" and "just" and "omnipotent?"

Considering the time these religions were "created" it makes sense the men of the time wrote their ethical values into the religion. If you look back into history in some religions females are revered as the powerful force due to their ability to "create" life.

I believe if there would be an all powerful being man and woman would be equal in it's eyes but religions do not reflect this concept for the most part. Men of the time could not conceive of this concept?

Thanks mirror, cacius and pats for your comments. I guess alot of people do not want to consider this concept.

This is just one of my considerations when looking at a religion. How they comparitively treat both genders. Is one considered in control while the other subservient.
