I used to think I'd never live up to my parents expectations. especially my fathers. he ended up being a pretty successful person. I always felt I had to match or better that. I don't feel that way anymore. Very happy with what I'm doing with my life and so are my parents.

I lost my parents early in life so I never really had that delima. I can see how it would be difficult but it's important that parents set expectations. It's how they deliver them that makes the difference.

I am sorry that you didn't get to know them and that they didn't set expectations for you. It's a hard life when you are out there trying to figure out what is right and wrong on your own. But I'm sure you have a lot to be proud of when you think of where you came from and what you had to work with and you have so much more time in life to make wise decisions! Life is all about decision making, with or without guidance.

What can I say here? I Can't. Great granfather WW1, Grandfather in ww2, my dad in vietnam, me, rejected by the armed forces because I wear contacts! My eyes aren't good enough! I can see the point of losing a contact in battle tho. Lasik!

i wish that was the kind of dad i had i met mine when i was 18 yet i have younger brother that he raised he just didnt want me but hey thats life my mom was always there for me she just expects to much from me but i guess its because I am her baby and only girl
