Well hopefully someone will come to their senses and get it together! like you said we need to Governing bodies and Cities Like Tucson Want an event BUt NHRA has the Chandler (PHOENIX) event so they wont do it and plus the seating at SIR is Fairly Small so that has alot to do with it I think it seats Less than 15,000 then theres standing room. But we Had the National Warm ups For A few years and I've Talked with John Force and Kenny Bernstein Before he retired and Schumacher as well as others and they've all said the Track itself is One of there favorite Tracks to run on, so we have that at least.

We had that at Norwalk before the BIG grandstands came in. They got Force to come in about 10 years ago for our "Night Under Fire" race and now he won't miss it, and was able to convince others to come even before the track switched to NHRA. The track was always top notch, and our former starter Big Jim is a master at track prep. He was in charge of national event track prep at IHRA for a while, still might be.
I also think the pros like to go back to their roots on occasion, go to the smaller tracks, where people who maybe can't get to or afford a National Event can come out and see the big boys and girls.
Anything to get a little nitromethane in the brain!love

So, are you going???

I might, I've been outta work since Oct so funds are tight right now. the thing about the warm ups was it was $20 to watch the guys and girls screw around. now the nationals next week end you can get in for $25 and see an actual event so of course after a couple of years they stopped coming cause no one was going out to watch them do nothing. but the NHRA has been involved with Tucson for a long time so who knows what will happen.
