Unfortunatly there is no cure for cluster headaches. Its not even fully understood what cause them. Sumitriptan (Immitrex) are the same thing. This med help decrese the trigeminal nerve. This is a common med used for Cluster headaches

I am not sure of the exact definition of a cluster headache, but I think it is a series of headaches/migraines close together in a certain time period. I get a migraine about once every 3 months or so. But I also have a neurological condition, so it is to be expected. I hope you get it worked out, no one should have to go through life in pain.flowerforyou

do the nasal sprays help to, because the sumitriptan doesnt take the pain totally away??

the most common cause of headaches is poor hydration so make sure you are drinking plenty of H20 , I recommend to my clients to keep a food diary and avoid headache causing foods- grains, caffine.. with any severe headache I would recommend seeing a dr .. hormonal imbalance can cause migranes too ...

I take atenolol(sp?) for my migraines. It is actually a blood pressure medicine but it helps reduce the severity and frequency of my headaches, which is really important because I have to watch them anyway. It works as a preventitive. They never figured out exactly why I started having them but the medicine helps.

In some cases ( First check with your Dr) a second seritonin can be administered. But it depends on many different factors.

Because it affects the blood pressure which reduces the tension in the brain.

Now caffine isnt all bad for headaches. Certain meds contain caffine to help with them.

Yea the doctor said it had another affect too but I don't remember exactly how he explained it. I have never had high blood pressure so that wasn't the cause.

Seritone is used as an anti depressant. Manyly for chemical imbalances.
