Do you know someone with poor hygiene?

I know this guy (a friend) with very bad breath and body odour. I've brought it up at least two times (uncomfortably), but he continues to stink? What more would you do for a friend? Some people I can easily talk to about things, but it isn't so with this guy. HEELLLLLp..

EEK! How gross. Hes a man you shouldnt have to tell him anything. Sometimes B.O. is a characteristic of a mental health disorder.

Does he do drugs? Sometimes people that do drugs don't take care of themselves. Sometimes depression does the same thing.
Or even a lack of money.

chronic body/breath odor can be a symptom of disease. you might want to suggest he seek professional medical assistance for his problem. otoh, it can be a food choice that he consumes regularly that causes the malodorous cloud - many food odors such as garlic and onion are blown off through the lung so not something bathing or oral hygiene will cure but rather a choice of consumption.

Carry a clothes pin in your pocket, and when he gets near clamp it on your nose lol...

Seriously, i have known people with poor hygiene, and it is difficult to talk to them about it. It's an awkward task to begin with to even bring it up. Obviously you don't want to hurt the persons feelings, but if you work in close proximity, you do not want to smell that odor all day. I'm afraid the only solution is to be blunt about it, subtle hint's do not seem to work, at least i have never had any success with that approach. I just say look man, i don't mean to be rude, but you gotta do something about that breath if you're gonna work with me.

There are people who have chronic halitosis, and there are effective otc products that do work.
