Are you familiar with "antebellum"? I like that one too. Generally see it used to describe homes, etc., that predate the Civil War. "Bellum" is derived from the Latin for "war," which is where we get our word "belligerent" -- also, as in "casus belli," the cause or justification for war. You are aware, that for me, this is like foreplay!?!?! Ohhhh... ahhh... Basta! perspicacious |

I should, most definately. But I can't play with Lex. That would be very embarassing for me... throwing myself at him, jist dumping my azz.. gem being a bit amused and feeling sorry for me... A bit deterministic. I think the actual process would be somewhat more stochastic. Um, Lex.... did you miss my stalking posts? You do live within driving distance. Stalking could be rather, um....stochastic for you. I've got a full tank of gas, too. Just a random thought, to be my more plebeian self. |

I do believe I've just been called a large hoofed domesticated animal! I should be insulted! Nah, I'm thinking the readers, what few of them are left, are saying, "dude... way to go" ... and secretly hoping I'm a big, fat prevaricator= falsifier. |

I do believe I've just been called a large hoofed domesticated animal! I should be insulted! A matter of perspective, I suppose. I was thinking hung like a large-hooved domesticated animal. Still insulted? |

Nah, I'm thinking the readers, what few of them are left, are saying, "dude... way to go" ... and secretly hoping I'm a big, fat prevaricator= falsifier. Winston Churchill once referred to a lie as a "terminological inexactitude" -- I use that one a lot.... |

Montana, It's been so long, it's antideluvian = before the great flood! Lilith -- you got a couple letters switched around in there! It's antediluvian; "ante" meaning "before" as opposed to "anti" meaning "against" !! I suspect the "diluvian" part stems from the same Latin root as "deluge," although I don't know that for sure. My word is "megatherium," a giant prehistoric ground sloth. yeah, that one is easy to drop in casual conversation, Lex. |

Lex-- Thank you for the catch. It is my mother's word, remember? From you though, the correction does not embarass me one iota! Are you familiar with "antebellum"? I like that one too. Generally see it used to describe homes, etc., that predate the Civil War. "Bellum" is derived from the Latin for "war," which is where we get our word "belligerent" -- also, as in "casus belli," the cause or justification for war. |
