Yea so I drove 7 hours after working all day... to bring my daughter to see her dad for the weekend. He hasn't seen her in over a year, and was flying into MN for business, so I thought I would bring her up to see him. She's been waiting ALL day and he called a few hours ago, he needed more sleep. He had a long flight. He won't get here til about 3. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon...
He is still his number 1 priority, somethings, never change.
It's easy to remember why he's an EX

Oh, honey, I feel ya...I'm in the same boat! That's why women are strong enough to be both parents....'cause we can't always count on men, unfortunately! flowerforyou

You know that's why "Cat's in the Cradle" exists, right?

she's upset... bouncing off the walls waiting to see him. We were supposed to have lunch together but I'm just going to get her pizza and he can go hungry

It doesnt get any better Jill, my son has been let down time after time by his "father" for the last 15 years, he has learned to expect it now. One day though, will they want or need these kids, and they just wont be there for them!! Then and only then, will they realize the damage they have done. Be proud of you and her and carry your head high, as he will not!!!

yea I know what you mean... this isn't the first time. I just try to do everything I can. That way I can say I tried my best to give her a relationship with him. But it took me a long time to realize that I can't make him care about her more than himself. His loss... I just know that I won't keep putting up all this work.

Hugs to you both Jill. My ex left me when I was pregnant, he saw our daughter twice outside of a courtroom, last time was when she was 10. Well last summer just before her 25th birthday she went to meet him. He picked her up at the airport with no apology & no explaination. It went downhill from there. At least she is keeping in touch with her grandfather now. He sent her a dozen red roses when she got home.
