I was talking to this guy while I was waiting for class to start, and he was talking to me about all these health related things, and with talking to him, I felt like the most unhealthy person, ever.. haha.

And then he was talking about how bad eating habits, and lack of exercise can help increase the chances of heart disease, blood clots, cancer, diabetes, ect.

I knew all this, but it never really registered with me until today.

I've decided I want to start living a lot healthier, as in.. eating foods that will keep me healthy, and stretching each day, because when I'm like, 50, I want to still be able to tie my shoes without sitting, and I want to be able to reach into cupboards, ect.

So, I guess what I wanna know is..

how healthy are your eating habits?
do you stay active, regularly?
what are some good healthy meals?

I run every morning 2 miles, then class, then to work where I lift heavy sh*t... I only eat cereal, fish, rice, pasta and potatoes because that all I can afford... Fish is good healthy stuff and rice is good too...

im sorry but if we avoided everything that was bad for us we might as well lie down and die....and alot of over healthy people drop dead because there bodies cant take the stress they put them threw or they arnt eating enough, plus if you get cancer or another illness you have more chance of fighting it if you have some weight on you than if didnt.

I didn't mean as a weight loss thing, I'm very content with the size I am..

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make healthier choices in my diet.

I don't need all the garbage I put into my body ie. Fast food, soda.

There are perfectly suitable substitutes for it.

First of all Kudos to you - you will be glad when you are my age that you started young
I am 42 and in pretty darn good shape

Second don't go all gun ho you are setting yourself up to fail which is bad for your self esteem

lets say start with drinking water .. I drink about 5 32 oz cups a day
I don't drink pop
and for every cup of coffee or tea I make sure i add 8 oz of water to my intake

yeh but what im saying hun is everything in moderation, healthy veg , fruit is great, but a burger now and then isnt going to kill you, and exercise is great if you dont take it extreme...but good luck to your new outlook hun...and good for you:smile:

I know, but like.. I probably just over did it because I was always on the go, after hockey I wouldn't want to come home and make something, so I'd always stop somewhere, and I had hockey 3-4 times a night, and I just can't do that to myself.

But thank-you very much - I really hope I stick through with this.

I eat a piece of chocolate if I want to I just don't eat the whole bag - unless depressed then i drink syrup out of the bottle

the whole key is to make them habbits

I never went for chocolate, I'm not big on chocolate eating - but I love ice cream.. Especially the Rolo kind.

Jeez, you ARE in amazing shape, then…could have fooled me. You could have said you were like 23 and I would have believed you.
