If you need something from God get your heart right, ask him into your heart, worship him, serve him, love him. Then ask him what you will.
Would you move into a filthy house without cleaning it first?

I'm not the one praying I asked because it was a discussion between my Mother and I . I like to be informed before giving input . Not everyone here is looking for an argument or debate .

Thank you , Brenda . flowerforyou

No, Brandy, He is listening to everyone. How could He be the creator, and not listen to His childrens prayers, joys, woes and hopes? He is. He listens. He hears the saints and the sinners. The thing is, it's a different level He is on. He sees the long term effects of the answers to a prayer. Sometimes, it seems that prayers aren't answered. In reality, they are all answered, just sometimes the answer is "no", "later", "maybe" or "soon" and of course, "yes", depending on His wisdom to see the past, present and future and because He is the "one" who knew us, before we were in our mother's wombs.

Brandy, we can be "sinners and believers" in this day and time. The scripture refers to those who do not believe as "sinners". Now we know that we are all sinners. There are sinners who believe in The Lord, God Almighty, and sinners who do not believe in God or Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
The belief must be that there is a God and Jesus Christ is the Way to God.
Kenneth, you are misleading. There are people who worship the "sun", and many other things. Belief is faith that their is a God and The son of God is and we know our prayers are heard. Yeah, Satan believes he can lead us away from God, the way perverts lead children, with candy and promises that will never be fufilled.
Brandy's mother has faith = belief.

First off your question was wether or not God heard your mothers prayers, and I answered according to the question that was asked, now as far as salvation, that was not mentioned...If you need salvation, I would be able to help you with that as well...if you wan't someone to lie to you then just keep listening to all the lies...if you wan't the truth I ask that you read the word and since you already don't trust me then I ask that you go talk yo a preacher and see what he says.
I only spoke the truth and gave you the word to prove it.

Again even Satan believes...which according to you is equal to faith
So according to what you are saying anyone can pray and God will answer their prayers

Here we go ....

1 John 5:14 says, "If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."

John 9:31 declares, “We know that God does not hear sinners, but those who worship Him and do His will, those He hears.” It has also been said that "the only prayer that God hears from a sinner is the prayer for salvation." As a result of this Scripture, some believe that God does not hear and/or will never answer the prayers of an unbeliever. In context, though, the Scripture is saying that God does not perform miracles through an unbeliever. The following Scriptures describe God hearing and answering the prayers of an unbeliever. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us that God answers prayers based on whether they are asked according to His will. This principle, perhaps, applies to unbelievers. If an unbeliever asks a prayer of God that is according to His will, nothing prevents God from answering such a prayer – according to His will.

Ok I feel like you want me to lie to her. Just because I did not give you the answer you wanted to hear does not make me wrong
yes once you have cleansed yourself and accepted him and worship him then he does answer your prayers.
Why were we created?
We all have a choice. Why should he grant us the desire of our hearts if we wont serve him.
We were created on this earth to serve him, he has given us a free mind, a free will. We will either serve him or we will serve Satan...there is no strattling the fence.
Ok if you are standing in your garage does that make you a car?
Same thing ...just because you believe there is a god does not make you a christian.

and some more ....

In examining the following passages, in most of these cases prayer was involved. In one or two, God responded to the cry of the heart (it is not stated whether that cry was directed toward God). In some of these cases, the prayer seems to be combined with repentance. But in other cases, the prayer was simply for an earthly need or blessing, and God responded either out of compassion or in response to the genuine seeking or faith of the person. Here are some passages dealing with prayer by an unbeliever:

The people of Ninevah; Jonah 3:5-10; that Ninevah might be spared.

Hagar and Ishmael; Genesis 21:14-19; not so much a prayer as a cry of the heart concerning her son who was close to death.

Ahab; 1 Kings 21:17-29; esp. v. 27-29; Ahab fasts and mourns over Elijah's prophecy concerning his posterity. God responds by not bringing about the calamity in Ahab's time.

The woman from the Tyre and Sidon area; Mark 7:24-30; that Jesus would deliver her daughter from a demon.

Cornelius, the Roman centurion; Acts 10; the prayer request is not stated (Acts 10:30), but he is shown the way of salvation.

God does make promises that are applicable for all (saved and unsaved alike) such as Jeremiah 29:13: "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." This was the case for Cornelius in Acts 10:1-6. But there are many promises that, according to the context of the passages, are for Christians alone. Because Christians have received Christ, we are encouraged to come boldly unto the throne of grace to find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16). We are told that when we ask for anything according to God's will, He hears and gives us what we ask for (1 John 5:14-15). There are many other promises for Christians concerning prayer as well (Matthew 21:22; John 14:13; John 15:7). So, yes, there are instances in which God does not answer the prayers of an unbeliever. At the same time, in His grace and mercy, God can intervene in the lives of unbelievers in response to their prayers.

Here's my two cents...

Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

First, we take "Now we know that God heareth not sinners", that's clear. God doesn't hear sinners. "Sinner" doesn't mean "sinner" here. Sorry everyone, but look it up. laugh "Sinner" is hamartolos, which means "One who is devoted to sin". Everyone is a sinner, but not everyone is devoted to sin.

Next let's take a look at this: "but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth." This verse makes it clear that it's not enough to be a worshipper of God...one must also "doeth his will" to be heard by God. That doesn't mean that God doesn't hear the prayers and voices of the hamartolos (sinner), it means that God akouo (considers that which has been said) *by* those who worship God and doeth his will.

So, this verse should be understood to read:

Now we know that God heareth not hamartolos (those who are dedicated to sin): but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he akouo (considers what has been said).

Actually, if you look at the Greek, this is a wonderful verse. It's gender neutral, which should remind the ladies that they are and always were equal in God's eyes. But on the whole it is a promise that God will listen to the prayers of those who worship and love him.

Ok But all these people were worshipers of God
