agree on politics. And that is O.K. I never asked you to agree with me.
I just wanted you to stop spouting the medias words. "Mabye Bush did not
out and out lie." It is very obvious that a boat load of mistakes have
been made in Iraq. But I look at the Democrats whose solution to global
problems is to hide your head in the sand. As Americans we are stuck
between the Republicans with ill conceived plans and the Democrats with
no plans. If I had my way, everyone would register as independant so
that the people in Washington would have to explain themselves to
everyone, not just the people that they are unsure about.
I mentioned the issue of our southern border as an example of one of the
things that Bush has completely dropped the ball on.
But then again, so did the previous five presidents.
I am a conservative, not a republican. My wish was not to make you
angry, but to put away the partisan thinking.
Think if Saddam was left to his own devices. He would be in control of
Kuwait, and all of the oil there, with access to a deep sea port. Think
about this madman with unlimited money and means to hide anything he
wanted. He hated America and wanted to do anything it took to kill us
all. These people do not care if we are rep. or dem. or cons. or lib. In
their eyes, we are the infidel who must be destroyed. Think of who our
enemies are and how they are trying to divide us.

My nephew is in the Air Force and is a lifer. He is serving his FOURTH
tour since the war on teror began. You may think that because he is AF
he is not in the action. BUT he is. For this tour he is stationed at a
Marine base just outside Baghdad where they are shelled many times day
and night. HE believes that what he is doing is for WORLD FREEDOM, his
own family and Americans who are not whiners but fighers and NOT for
some political bullshi*. Go ahead, find some soldiers and ask them. I
would like to extend to you an invitation to do so. OR buy some of the
miriad of books now published from blogs of soldiers on the internet, I
have 6 already and it is some good reading, let me tell you.

That is, if you are truly interested in what they have to say... No
animosity here, just pointing out that the information you ask for
abounds if you take the time to look for it.

You know what, Verb, I have friends AND relatives that have done and are
continuing to do tours in IRAQ. Some on the frontlines, one as a DR. in
the ER in Bagdad, one a mecahnic, etc. I know a couple of them agree
with what they are told the true intention of the war is, but the
majority I know are upset because they were lied to by our Govt. They
all are proud to help the Iraqi civilians, but the lack of financial
sustenance for families, the extention of their tours by a few months,
the lack of PTSD treatment post active duty, etc.......too much to
mention here. I am glad your nephew likes what he is doing. Great!

troop member. He may see some action, but what about the Marines, the
Army....they're ass deep in it. They live hell on a daily basis, then
recieve no PTSD treatment when their tour is complete? WTF WTF
WTF!!!!!!!Do you really think we are coming out ahead in this?? I mean,
REALLY....do you?? Sounds like you pick and choose your literature as
you do your politics; go with that which fits best for you.

Also, the books that are pro war being written in the time of the Bush
regime.....isn't it possible you see so many of those because they serve
as positive propaganda for GW Bush? Do you expect the negative views of
disgruntled soldiers to be rushed to publication? Maybe it's Big Brother
watching you.......what the hell can you be sure of? I am proud of each
and every member of our armed forces. I respect the hell out of them for
doing what they do. I also believe they deserve our support in asking
for answers to a seemingly impossible situation.
