so for some reason i cant print a document. my printer (hp 380) is connected the right way but it registers as it being offline. its turned on so i dont know what the problem is. I even put in the command for it to print while offline but it still wont budge. A friend suggested installing another driver but i cant download it because i dont meet the ram requirements but its worked with out the HP driver. I installed it through the printer and faxes wizard on my comp and have had no prob till now.

So what can i do? I sux having to pay to print at school! grumble

Leave computer running but unplug from computer, wait a couple of seconds and plug it back in. See if the computer can re-aquire. Also try different USB plug, sometimes USB can be flakey.

Are you using anything else that's USB, like a mouse?

Uninstall the driver, then unplug it, and replug it in. See if that works.

Plug the mouse in where the printer is, at least you'll know if the port is dead or alive.

Upgrade your ram and get the latest drive, but until then...

uninstall the printer and drivers, reboot, then reinstall. It should work for now.

I've had that problem before.

Start, settings, control panel, click on printers option and tell me what printers are shown in here. Seems somtimes more than 1 are installed, if u see urs check to see if theres a black check mark in the top left corner.

For kicks can you list your specs?
