I got a new cat today ... she is a kitten .
I already have another cat and she is an old girl .

Is it okay for both cats to use the same litter box ?

I don't have much experience with cats .

It depends. Some cats like their personal box.

Yeah. They will be fine using the same. If not, then make them understand they have no choice. Usually this requires kitty electro shock therapy. laugh laugh laugh

Shes way to cute and sweet to shock or eat .... sick
She hasn't used the bathroom yet but I did show her the litter box and she checked it out really good . Right now she is roaming around under the blankets on my bed like shes on an expedition into the unknown .

I'm also wondering how this is going to work w/my dog .
My dog loves cats but apparently cat's don't like her . The first experience my dog ran up to give her a sniff and the cat hissed and arched her back . My dog was terrified .

Rule of thumb: Always have at least one litter box for each cat you have. It will help prevent litter box issues down the road. Some cats are cleaner than others in the litter box and just like people, if you think the bathroom is dirty you are less likely to use it.

Yes it is ok for them to use the same box as long as they are both healthy. You might want to get a second litter box adventually. Sometimes they can get territorial about things.
This may result in going potty where they should'nt. I have allways had more than one litter pan. I find it helps when you have more than one cat.
I go by:
1-2 cats one box/maybe two.
2-3 cats two boxes.
3-4 cats three boxes.
etc...
Enjoy your new furball! flowerforyou
